Maintenance of sidewalk and curb is the responsibility of the property owner.

I have created a new request for the sidewalk concern. The new reference number is #5974944. For future references please submit requests separately so that both issues are addressed properly. I have also advised the Traffic Department to provide an update on the crosswalk sign and this request will remain open until an update is available.

No change, repair or correction to severely broken sidewalk sections or restaurant allowing parking across sidewalk. Yesterday 2 80 year old ladies were forced to navigate the broken up sidewalk due to cars parked across sidewalk.

No corrective action taken by property owner. Please advise whether the City has contacted property owner.

No corrective action on sidewalk. It continues to get worse.
No word on pedestrian crossing sign. No pedestrian crossing sign.

What I was referring to in the original post was the “sawhorse” or standup sign that sits in the middle of the crosswalk on the center line. We had one of these for a couple of years and then it was run over and moved to the side and then never replaced. Yes the white stripes on the road were repainted recently and there are the regular signs on the curb. But due to the traffic and heavy pedestrian flow due to the college, high school and residential shoppers we benefitted from the sign in the middle of the road. This entire message stream and the length of time will be an interesting item for the Vision Zero project.
