Description
the owner of 203 pearl st needs to do something about its plants and shurbery and they also put signs right on the corner of their property and it is very difficult to see when pulling out of grand street so many times I have and I know of a lot of others who have had close calls pulling out of there. if you are in a car which is low its very hard if you are in a suv like they own its easy to see for them probably but not for a lot of us.

To the anonymous commenter regarding 203 Pearl Street...we own the house and are only aware of this complaint due to a neighbor (who lives behind us on Grand Street, by the way) who thought it was a joke they came across. We have never heard of this site, and for your sincere knowledge - the town will not do a thing about a complaint unless it is formally filed (then investigated) with the town's blight officer at town hall. So we're not sure what the point or goal is of posting your anonymous complaint on this site. This said, we are not looking to tick you or anyone else off and consider ourselves to be decent, upstanding neighbors. The plant to which we think you are referring was once a huge tree with a plethora of low lying leaves (the pot is on a stump), which we cut down due to the viewing obstruction. Yes, we own an SUV, but we also own a regular car, which you don't mention but we're sure you have seen in our driveway. We can and always have been able to see perfectly fine around the corner, but we are decent people - nice neighbors - so if you are personally having a problem, please stop by our house during the evenings or on a weekend (otherwise you may only find one of my children at home, who will not really be able to assist you) and we would be very happy to discuss the plants you are finding to be a problem (as long as you, too, are decent).
Our only comment to you is that it would have been much nicer to have a neighbor (obviously, as you mention you are up and down the street often) come have a civil discussion with us rather than publicly post our address along with your complaint. We have had many people stop by just to comment on how lovely our yard is and have never had a single complaint. But if you continue to have one, and we do not fault you if you do (we only fault you for anonymously posting a complaint while publicly providing our address and type of vehicle), please come by and point out exactly what is causing you a problem. Your lack of decorum will be overlooked entirely if you come discuss with us. But if you cannot publicly address this - or personally address this - with us, then our stance is that we will not be bothered to publicly rectify the issue by way of rearranging our garden for you. Sorry, but we're not fixing what we don't believe is a problem, particularly if you are not willing to point it out to us or provide a means of discussing any fixes with you.
Most sincerely,
Alex and Trish Danka
