yeah, that's pretty brassy right there. dedicated use spaces, and you just *know* what's going to happen down the road is, someone's going to say "well, our data on use shows that people just don't recharge at these locations much, we should remove them if they're so low traffic"!

I think the city is planning to post signage that these are for EV charging only (according to to associated flyer), but have not done it yet. Agreed, the city should look at data on how often these are blocked (once signage is up) in addition to the more-easily-obtainable data on how often chargers are used.

yeah, even then though, I wonder how long the blocking has been going on; ie, how many have seen the spaces blocked and just started looking elsewhere. hard data to obtain one way or another. I have 2 neighbors who run a line out their apartment window to the street where their car charges overnight, but as you can imagine, that has some interesting risks associated with it.
