This is a Google Maps photo, but the ACTUAL GRASS at this intersection island is over 1 foot HIGH! Someone is going to be killed pulling out into traffic! I've seen accidents here before, and it is the Driver who gets hit by oncoming traffic. Every Spring I write this complaint - GET RID of these plants and put concrete! Ann Arbor cannot safely maintain plants on this island intersection! Make it concrete, forget these plants! There is currently this complaint acknowledged in this system FOUR DAYS ago! When someone gets killed pulling out, there is proof of concern from residents in this seeclickfix system. Pour concrete and get rid of the plants, AA can't maintain this island!

I agree - this needs a permanent fix, not a twice-a-year (at most) weed whack. It is incredibly dangerous, particularly with the pedestrian crossing right there. Unless you are in a giant truck, it is almost impossible to see the traffic coming down Division if you are trying to turn right off of Carey onto the Broadway Bridge. And to try to keep an eye out for bicyclists coming, or pedestrians crossing to the right of the intersection? It is mind-boggling that the city neglects it year after year. Will they wait until someone is injured or killed?

I commented about this same issue last year. PLEASE replace the planting with some LOW GROWING PLANTS so this ceases to be an issue.

It was taken care of several weeks ago but - SURPRISE - it has all grown back and it is even taller than before, thanks to all the rain and heat we've had. PLEASE cut it down again, and PLEASE find a permanent fix for this dangerous situation before someone gets hurt.

Agreed - there are several of these areas that would be much less maintenance and probably more attractive if planted with something lower, like a sedum.

I enter the broadway bridge here almost daily. I couldn’t see a car coming down division this morning and almost got into an accident. It is unsafe to obstruct the view of vehicles coming down the hill on division. Please plant something that doesn’t grow as high.
