Agreed with the original poster, Jeff. If you were to stand there and watch the chaos, you’ll notice how many “near misses” there are at that intersection. It’s dangerous for cars but also for anyone crossing, bikes, etc. Please do something!

This location is not eligible for the construction of a traffic signal; however, we will conduct a preliminary traffic assessment to determine what type of traffic control is warranted at this intersection. The preliminary assessment will also help identify if a more in-depth study is required. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for the preliminary study to be completed.

Thank you, Jennifer C., for looking into this. I used to live right on that corner and the accidents are regular. I avoid crossing there with my kids because cars going north on Jersey go too fast and cars on 2nd can't see the northbound traffic from the stop line, if they bother to stop at all. Daylighting has worked well at other intersections in the neighborhood with similar issues (for example one block away at 3rd. and Jersey. Anyway, glad to hear the city's looking into this.
