Description
June 9,10 Saturday and Sunday. Festivals in Park both days.
The vendors are cooking on the grass and leaving scorch marks as illustrated in picture. There are more examples. Vendor vehicles are parked all over the lawns. Out of control. Both the LatinoBLACK and Pride festivals have grown and need to be handled like major events. Visitors park and drive on grass, walking areas as there is no guidance. Need to lay down rules and enforce. Special Events staff need to get organized with this.

Agree. The preparation for this was bad: no parking signs placed around and in many places in the park yet the rules were not enforced. Cars driving all through the closed roads in Washington Park where motorized vehicles are prohibited.
Today, 'no parking' signs still up on State Street after this event. Some of the signs have been ripped down and left in the street. Debris from candy and swag handed out during the parade is all over the place. Who is responsible for cleaning this stuff up? After Art on Lark DGS crews were hard at work cleaning up. Why the inconsistency with events?
And yes, the events around Pride have gotten bigger: the parade had more participants and drew tremendous crowds.
