Description
The bushes planted in the right of way obscure visibility for oncoming traffic coming up the hill. You have to be half way out in the traffic lane to see traffic coming up the hill. This should be ground cover not bushes that grow up.

The City reviewed the sight distance concern to see the southbound traffic approaching the 42nd Ave S and S 160th St intersection. The City has decided that we will remove some of the shrubs at the planter strip immediately north of the 42nd Ave S and S 160th St intersection on the east side. No plants will be put back at the subject location. That planter strip will then be covered with bark only. This measure should alleviate or eliminate the sight distance concern to see the southbound traffic approaching the 42nd Ave S and S 160th St intersection. These shrub removals will be done when the construction contractor is back on site to finish the road project. I am actively urging the contractor to come back out to finish the job. --Peter Lau, City of Tukwila
