Description
Flakes of insulation regularly float in the air like snow flurries. It is coming from the building construction at the corner of West and Peace St. Piles of insulation flakes are accumulating in the gutters where they will wash into the sewer system and not degrade. Walking down the street, the flakes cling to people's cloths and hair. When parking in the lot across the street, the flakes cling to cars and get into cars as well. This has been happening regularly for weeks on days when it is not raining. The building is very large and the insulation is only partially installed, meaning an awful lot of insulation flakes will continue to be a nuisance and, most importantly, contaminate everything they contact.

I was in the parking lot beside the construction site videoing the flurries when a gentleman in a vest and hard hat walked up and asked if everything was ok. I said "yes, except for all the insulation falling down." He responded that they had gotten a call from the city and they have someone cleaning it up. He said this in all seriousness while 2 workers were right behind him scraping the insulation and creating MORE flakes.
Move along ... nothing to see here ...
Appreciate the city contacting them so quickly, but hope they won't depend on the builder/developer to both clean up what's there and stop additional pollution.
