A few cars extreme excess speed day and night. School is in and people should drive like their own kids live here. Many children wait and being dropped off at bus stops along Blueberry. I plan on catching some of the speeders on video and posting on Youtube with link sent to Shelton pd. A have discussed speed bumps with neighbors and think this may be a possible solution. Some streets in Westport with gradual entry and exit on bumps allow snow plows to pass.

Perhaps the city would agree to paint lines on the street at an officially measured distance - that way the videos could easily calculate the actual speed rather than "I think they looked like they were going "x" MPH"...
Looking at the map, it seems logical that people are using that street as a way to cut through. Building a through road on the land on the north end of the Trap Falls Reservoir would solve that problem, but it would mean cutting down trees and annoying the birds.

Blueberry is a great example of what happens when they build a road up to modern standards -- very wide and straight. The modern design just encourages speeding. I would rather they built narrower, windier roads but with some sidewalks or grassy shoulders so pedestrians would be safe.
Forget the speed bumps. Everyone in Shelton wants one on THEIR street, but do you really want to drive over speed bumps on everyone else's street? I sure don't. They wear out cars and cause you to burn more fuel.

Perhaps some recording cameras with tickets mailed out would work. Come sit in my driveway and you won't stay still long as they speed by all day and night, thats what happens with a cross thru road. We could make certain streets one wayforcing a longer ride

Perhaps an answer is to re-install the stop signs on Blueberry and Strawberry. I could never get a good answer as to why they were removed in the first place.
The overgrown trees on the corner of Strawberry obstruct driver's view when turning left onto Blueberry. Factor in speed and it's dangerous for cars and school buses.
Cut through traffic on Blueberry has always been an issue as well as speed. Our neighborhood has not been repaved in the years since I've lived here, patched but never paved but even the potholes don't slow speeders down.
Road maintenance does not seem to be factored into the budget. The city bonds to pay for this capital expenditure which does not make sense. I understand there are surplus funds at this time for road maintenance, so why the new bonds?
