Unfortunately, this intersection is not under the jurisdiction of Jersey City. This intersection is owned, maintained, and was designed and approved by the DOT. Any changes to the intersection must be reviewed and approved by the DOT. If you would like to voice your concerns to the DOT, please contact the NJDOT North Region Office.

Hi Jennifer. According to the NJDOT website, Jersey City must send a request for this:

"Contact your local officials first [...] NJDOT cannot enter a town and make changes in their jurisdiction without the town's consent. Should the issue fall under NJDOT's jurisdiction, the local officials will forward a direct request to the appropriate NJDOT staff for an investigation on behalf of the municipality."

We have not received any updates, Have you? While we definitely want to do all that we can, with limited staffing, our priority remains focused on the projects and the needs that we have direct oversight on and do not want to delay these projects since we can make these changes for the better and we are accountable directly for these safety and efficiency measures. The State does not answer to us, but the other way around and we will try and follow up where possible. However, the reality is that you all have just as much input here and the more people to file this request with the State the better. In addition, if you were provided with any type of tracking number, please feel free to share this with me at abernheim@jcnj.org.

This is a State road, all follow up must be done directly with the State.
