Description
These lights are poorly timed for the drivers in the left lane heading north across W. College Ave. and turning left onto W. Howard Ave. On weekday mornings at approximately 8:45am (providing a time in case timing changes throughout the day), drivers in this scenario are given a green light to proceed across W. College only to be met with a red turn arrow, followed by a flashing yellow turn arrow, preventing or hindering their turn onto W. Howard. This causes traffic to back up through the intersection and increases the risk of rear-end collisions across the already lowered traction surface of a railroad crossing. Drivers in this scenario do eventually get a green turn arrow to proceed through to turn onto W. Howard. In my humble opinion, the order of these turn arrows should be reversed. The green turn arrow should match the green light across W. College, followed by a yellow flashing arrow, followed by a solid red arrow. I realize this may affect timing for vehicles proceeding south on N. McDonough St. across Howard and College, but I would like to kindly request that this be looked into and improved if at all possible.
