It's also not trespassing until they are told to leave by the person with the right to occupy the space, and the person doesn't leave, or they return. You don't get to decide who is trespassing on property that doesn't belong to you or you have a right to occupy.
Just stop. Just... stop.

uhm, what is your source for that? I've never heard that it's only trespassing if a trespasser is told to leave by the person who has the right to occupy the space. I'm pretty sure trespassing is trespassing the moment you set foot on someone else's property without their permission. For example, if you trespass on my property while I'm not home, I'm obviously not there to tell you to leave, but law enforcement in any city would agree that it's still trespassing. You're just making stuff up at this point.
You absolutely do get to decide who is trespassing on your property or property that you have the right to occupy. This is just flat out made up.
Why are you going out of your way to defend a trespasser and a thief who collectively with their associates costs the city millions in lost recycling revenue each year and is a massive nuisance to everyone in the east end?

To re-cap, if you own a home in Alameda, and a total stranger who you've never given permission to come onto your property comes onto your property, regardless of the date or time that they do this, and regardless of whether you are even on the property when they arrive, let alone whether or not you formally ask them not to trespass on your property, they are trespassing. They are breaking the law, and it is not ok.
As a bonus, here is the official dictionary definition of "trespass":
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/trespass
verb
to enter someone’s property without permission

Wednesday, July 10th, 2019. 8:00 PM.
As I was coming up to my apartment after arriving home from work today, I spotted one of the repeat offender neighborhood recycling thieves walking outside our complex and looking into our carport.
I immediately recognized her as one of the recycling thieves who I had actually chased off this property a few months ago. Apparently, she also recognized me, and decided not to go into our property as she had originally planned to dig through our bins.
Instead, she proceeded over to the neighboring property, at 2622 Central Ave, and began digging through their bins. I called APD non-emergency dispatch, the dispatcher was being difficult as usual but managed to take the call after about 2 minutes of me trying to give her the suspect's description.
I'm guessing APD will be dispatching an officer sometime around Christmas, by which time the thief will have sailed all the way across the ocean to Asia.
Anyways, just dropping by to let you all know this issue remains unresolved despite years of repeat complaints from city residents, we still have the same exact thieves coming to our neighborhood to trespass on private property and steal from it every week.
The Alameda city government has officially ignored this request for 10 days. I have another issue open separately from I believe February which they've likewise ignored.

Saturday, July 13th, 2019, 1:15 PM. Neighborhood recycling thief has returned once again (big surprise.) As I said before, they go through various properties down their usual route to steal recyclables from private property.
This has been happening multiple times a week, every week for over a year and possibly longer. APD doing nothing about it as usual. It's incredible.

looks like the anonymous social justice warrior is still here. dont know what they posted though since the site auto censored it. im guessing it was another rant telling me how wrong and bad I am for reporting trespassing and theft from private property or something to that effect.
Anyway, as I was heading to work I spotted the thief again walking southbound on Park from Webb. Apparently they were looting properties up on the northeast side of Alameda today before looping back down Park street. APD still letting them get away with it as usual. I'll continue to post updates as the city continues ignoring this issue and letting this c.r.i.m.i.na.l trespass and steal from private properties across the town.

This weekend, on Friday night/Saturday morning at around 3 AM we had yet another recycle thief show up on our property and start digging through our bins with a flashlight. He was being pretty loud and woke me up. I came outside to confront him. It was a young latino guy probably in his 20s or early 30s. I asked him what he was doing and he just replied saying "sorry." I asked him if he lived here, he said no. I told him to put the stuff back in the bins and leave.
I have a feeling he or one of his buddies will be back since APD not only doesn't seem to see anything wrong with what they're doing, but are even going as far as to actively bail them out of their fines when they finally do get cited for it. This is not Ok and it needs to stop.

Monday, August 12th, 2019. 8:29 PM. I just spotted yet another recycling thief looting the bins from our property, then they went next door to loot the bins from 2622 Central Ave. They're now proceeding down central looting other complexes in the area.
This is not the same thief that was cited or the Latino thief from this weekend. This is a different asian female thief who I chased off this property before. She already knows she is not welcome here but she was trespassing here anyway because she probably didn't realize I was here.
Thanks for letting this continue every week with impunity.

Hey everyone just a quick update:
The user who I previously reported was harassing me in that other request and kept trying to derail and hijack my request, repeatedly attempting to close my request and posting insulting comments directed at me has officially submitted a records request to the city to obtain all emails sent to the police chief regarding recycling theft during the time that I was reporting this problem. It appears they are trying to get my persnoal details (dox) from the city government to harass me in IRL.
You can view their record request here: https://seeclickfix.com/issues/6774547-record-request
I just want to post this here just in case this person does anything to me IRL. I believe they are planning to harm me so I am posting this here as an advisory.
