If the only available parking is at the very end of Butler Avenue, driver strategically watches for a space to open close to his residence and runs outside and moves the tow truck to the empty space. Extremely hard for drivers backing or pulling out of driveways. Extremely hard to turn into driveways because it’s so wide. Needless to say Butler Ave is a One Way street. There’s no room for this commercial vehicle. It has been reported and NOTHING has happened. I’m sure owner/driver knows it’s not permitted on the street but if law enforcement doesn’t do their job he will continue to be a nuisance to neighbors. He takes up a chunk of parking spaces. Until there’s an accident because it’s creates such a hazard, maybe no one will pay attention. This is a problem that’s been lingering for more than a year now. If someone comes by in the 7pm - 7/8am hour it will be on the street nicely parked. Can this problem be fixed? Mr. Mayor, can this company know that they are breaking the law and annoying residents?

It appears that the police department only wants to deal with the various overnight parking issues during the day.

Dear Mayor's office official,

I believe the larger part of the expressed frustration is due to the lack of response by the BPD when these kinds of parking issues are brought to their attention. They seem to find these to be minor nuisances rather than the quality of life issues that they are...especially when illegal parking is connected to the inability of legal residents to park safely and to negotiate the streets.

Lack of response is definitely an issue. These issues are just brushed aside as our quality of life doesn’t matter. I for one have an issue with this tow truck. When it’s parked by my house, I cannot safely get out of my driveway and let’s talk about getting in when your vehicle isn’t an average sedan. I’ve personally spoken to officers about this matter and nothing has been done. I was told that the hours it’s there parking enforcement is off the clock. But I’m very sure that if I have an accident trying to maneuver my way in or out, he will quickly move it making it seem as though I’m lying since the response time for accidents isn’t even fast unless people are seriously hurt. Come on Bridgeport! For the taxes we pay? Let’s atleast have some civility even for parking. Butler Ave is a ONE WAY street. Not wide enough for cars on both sides and a wide body tow truck to get around. The name of the company was submitted to a traffic cop and I’ve seen NO change. As I type, it’s parked outside it’s 3:32pm. Fedor Auto body works Norwak CT (203)838-2443. Now there’s the info.
