I can't find any emergency phone number to call about the lighting. A child could be hit by a car anytime. It's a wonder seeing dozens of kids going across the road. That someone hasn't been run over yet

A street light has been approved for the intersection of Chambers Rd and Brookhaven Road, it is on Georgia Power's schedule to be installed. If any other street lights are requested you will need to contact Facilities Management at (478) 751-9260 in order to obtain the required petition form tobe mailed to you. No further action can be taken until the petition has been returned.
Here is the process. Upon receipt of the street light petition, a field survey shall be conducted by Facilities Management, or its designee, to determine the existing lighting conditions including the number of street lights, locations, spacing, fixtures types, poles, and any other pertinent information.
- (1) An inspection may take place at night hours if deemed necessary to properly assess the area.

- (2) Once the petition is verified, a map shall be drawn of the area showing any existing street light.

- (3)Facilities Management or their designee, shall prepare a recommendation and estimated cost of such work, including installation of lights, maintenance cost, and electricity cost.

- (4) All findings, costs, and recommendations shall then be submitted via resolution to the Macon-Bibb Commission for consideration and approval of installation. The Macon-Bibb County Commission shall assess each petition individually on the merits and shall be required to identify funding for any approved projects

- Roughly, the entire process may take from 3 to 6 months.

As for the crosswalks, I have forwarded this issue to our Traffic Engineering Department for review.

The approved street light at Chambers Rd and Brookhaven Rd hasn't been placed yet. It needs to be on the same side as the apartment buildings or it will interfere with drivers being able to see at the intersection due to light pollution. It's been a month since my original complaint but it's not going to save a kids life unless they install the light.

The light is now at the intersection of Chambers Road and walmarts road. This can be closed
