Why are not the Republic drivers Calling in these large pick-ups ?, they drive right by them!

republic doesn’t “call in” large pick ups. the person that needs a large pick up needs to call republic and ask for the large pick up. it’s a free service and easy to do.

When we had all pickup it was never a problem and free, why not now? And why can't the republic drivers call in a problem?

It's not the job of Republic drivers to report such things. It's the responsibility of the person who needs the pickup to call in and schedule it. Large pickups are free once a month, and you have to schedule it. Not too long ago, we only got one free bulk pickup a quarter, so rejoice in the improvement!

In my opinion it should be the responsibility of the Republic Drivers to report dumping and piles of trash to the office for extra pickup since we now PAY for garbage pickup, it would make unsightly trash piles picked up faster, making the City better and cleaner for all. 1 Radio call to the office would stop the majority of the complaints to this site Obsolete !. Or go back to all pickup like we had for free before Carty!

Well, you seem to have an awful lot of time on your hands, so maybe the best solution is for you to drive around and report trash piles to Republic. If residents and homeowners would simply live up to their responsibility as citizens, this would not be an issue. Unfortunately, Utopia does not exist. Therefore, we find ourselves having to to manage such issues as a community.

Republic does a fine job. Adding an unnecessary additional task to the work crews' burdens would, at the very least, slow down pickups. It would also cause redundancies in the system (e.g. Republic crews reporting pickups being needed when they have already been put on the schedule, etc.).

Your "solution" isn't very well thought-out.

Soren,,, since all you do is criticize people with great views and ideas on a subject and you have yet reported nor contributed anything on this site, maybe it should be to your best interest to keep quiet.

regardless of what we all think on the issue, it is the responsibility of the person putting out bulk garbage to ask for a pick up. if you want to change that, you should take it up with republic.
