The construction drivers are the main problem. They are going 60+ miles per hour morning, noon and night. They have no regard for children or adult safety. Please help us keep our friends and family safe.

This would be perfect. Our child struggles with impulse control, and remembering to look both ways before crossing the road. He is also a known wander risk, this sign is deeply needed and appreciated.

Signs indicating “CHILDREN AT PLAY”, “BLIND CHILD”, or “DEAF CHILD”, (which would include your request for a sign alerting to an Autistic child) are not recognized as official warning signs by the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The usage of this sign was removed from the manual in 1971. Traffic studies have shown that this type sign, while attempting to warn of a particular condition in a residential area, or of a condition that is not always present, has failed to achieve desired safety benefits. They are not used in the City of Huntsville.

This is not just constitution workers driving. This street recently saw a car jump a large hill at a round-a-bout. If youre unwilling to put in signs, we need speed bumps. If something happens to my child my request will be used as support that we made a full attempt to get the city to recognize the dangers going on and tbe cities passive negligence by doing nothing to protect youth, let alone ones with special needs.
