I agree with Vinod. Given the downward slope of our street, it encourages vehicles to speed up unnecessarily and is of dire concern for us who live on Old Leaf Court. As Vinod mentioned above, we all have small children playing outside and this is unfortunately a problem we have to deal with on a daily basis. Installing a couple of speed bumps in our neighborhood would go a long way to making our community and our children safer. I urge you to please consider this request.

I agree and approve the traffic concern raised by Vinod. We are one of the houses that have little kids and having the speed bumps would significantly ensure safety of our kids in the neighborhood

I completely agree with Vin. I have seen outside vehicles speeding in the community which is a major safety concern.

I agree with my neighbors here that we see vehicles speeding up in our community. While we residents know that there are kids in the area, the other outside cars just don’t adhere to any residential area speed limits. This is a major safety concern for us. Having speed bumps will probably restrict the cars from speeding.

DPW HWYS Danny H assigned this issue to DPW HWYS Traffic

Howard County Community Speed Control Program is established to deal with issues caused by cut-through traffic. Daily traffic volume needs to be over 1200 vehicles per day. Operating Speed(85% ile) needs to be over 35MPH.

Humps are always installed in multiples of 3 or more over greater than 1200 feet of road length. When humps are installed according to specification, Operating Speeds are between 25 and 34MPH. The county has no provisions to slow traffic Operating Speed below 25MPH. It is important to understand that even with the Operating Speed of 25MPH, 15% of traffic is traveling over 25MPH.
