Yes, this is slowly turning from a sluggish response to a problem on a low-priority road to a scandalous neglect.

Why will this not be acknowledged? Why has it been years since the road has been paved ? only old patchwork there.

Has anyone contacted their alder about this ? They can help get this on their radar. Just posting here is no guarantee , anything will get done.

If you have called & contacted Public works, your alder, perhaps a call to the media concerning the lack of response might get this on someone's radar to do something. This is an election year. The powers that be do not like adverse publicity. The public is not going to tolerate this total lack of action any longer. The pot boileth over.

Is this problematic part of the park road not in Hamden rather than in New Haven?

Checking a map it is indeed Park Drive in Hamden. However, there is also the section of English Dr along the base of East Rock from Orange St to Rice field that is in just as bad shape.

The City of New Haven "owns" East Rock Park (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Rock). Therefore the surrounding road and the road to the summit would be the responsibility of New Haven.

The City Government is on notice. If there is an accident or injury due to this poorly maintained road the City is liable.

The current City administration seems to like being liable for negligence. As a taxpayer I hope this will change.

City of New Haven. THANK YOU for the paving that was done in both sections of the Park road. Farnum and English drive both.Everyday I am so grateful for my car not jolting over such rough road near the Davis Street entrance. But I am wondering why it isn't finished...a long patch was not paved where there is still the issue reported.

The left lane heading south towards New Haven was completed. I have received a notice to close this but I posed this question 9/22 without a response.

And the second part has never been addressed :...." continues on Davis Street near Rogers Road down to Hartford Turnpike. Trying to negotiate these areas for well over a year ! in order to try and save tires and shocks on car one must go down to 5 miles an hour risking speeding cars behind you. I see so many side roads in the area quickly paved this season and last while this goes untouched for almost two years."

Where paving begins heading north towards Davis St. is dangerous as the difference in the paving height from old level is too high. One either hits it hard or slowing down is dangerous with cars behind. And the paving done last year is already breaking off !!!!

Pot holes are forming . One rough and potholed strip was NEVER included in the paving. Heading north up to the entrance of East Rock Park tparking area. The " paving" is already breaking up after one season. And at the start of the paving heading north to Davis Street is a big jump from the road to the paving. Also coming around a corner one doesn't necessarily see he change and hits it hard or if knowing and slowing down risks being rear ended.

please do not close this issue. due to road closure cannot be determined if work has been done but I doubt it as it is now open to public walkway .

Steep sections with potholes are a risk to everyone. Cyclists swerve to avoid potholes or could crash and strike pedestrians inadvertently.

This area is still blocked off by the mayor and since it is closed off to traffic it would seem an opportune time to repair it. See Click fix would like this request closed as it is over 600 days since the initial report . Alas , it has not been addressed for 600 days as well. Please keep this open.

English Drive as been paved. Please continue to complete the paving of the whole road, ..the Farnum Drive part . Seems it would have been so easy to do as it had been closed down for almost a year.
