  At a minimum, this requires a pole on the SE corner and an underground conduit crossing the street. Very expensive. With this level of dirt-work going on, it makes sense to consider another conduit crossing on the east side, to better position a pedestrian signal pole on the NE corner. Having these two street crossings makes a post-top style signal reconstruction very feasible, like Battery & Main and Battery & Maple. The "minimal" upgrade a block away cost us about 40k. For a little bit more, we could get off the 40+ year old steel poles and have a signal more aesthetically aligned for a neighborhood instead of a busy throughway. Whichever way this goes, it is a major investment that needs to be evaluated against other capital upgrades.

  Since this is a route to school, and since the intersection at 127/Manhattan was upgraded (when this one was not?) it definitely makes sense to prioritize and update here ASAP. There is "no turn on red" signage for NB/EB movement, but many drivers ignore the signage. Having actual pedestrian signals and a lit "NRTOR" sign would be idea.

  This is absolutely necessary! There is so much pedestrian traffic through here, much of it school children on their way to and from school. My son was very nearly hit last week when crossing at the crosswalk by a car turning right on red while looking left (a very common occurrence), blocking the crosswalk then starting to go not noticing my child was right in front of their car. No turn on red would help, pedestrian signals too. Also, bumping out and raising the curb to shorten the crossing and discourage cars from sitting in the cross walk, possible make pedestrians more visible, as well as prevent them from driving on the sidewalk when turning right. I make my kids stand far back from the intersection while waiting to cross because so many cars and trucks cut their right turn short and drive onto the sidewalk.

  Honestly why is cost an issue here when it is a major known safety concern for all users and is a highly used route to IAA school. Do we have to wait for a major incident for money to be "allocated". Please fix this issue.

  So, this is sort of fixed now, right? Still could use a NRTOR light up sign, but at least there is a crosswalk signal now.
