XYZ, thank you for your continued posting on this and other issues in Branford. SeeClickFix has this stated in there "About Us" section and in "FAQ". It is a community based page. Many areas are monitored by subscribers and report these issues to their towns. As a citizen of Branford I have it as a "Watch Area". You can too. Then send issues on to the appropriate department to get fixed. I've pasted the information below. Thanks again.
- About SeeClickFix
SeeClickFix is a communications platform for citizens to report non-emergency issues, and governments to track, manage, and reply--ultimately making communities better through transparency, collaboration, and cooperation.
They say all politics is local. While we're not political, we do believe that changes that have a real impact on our daily lives occur at the neighborhood or city level. It's our goal to provide the best tools for residents and governments to communicate for all sizes, populations, and budgets.
SeeClickFix could not be done without help. On top of the passionate, fast-growing team of entrepreneurs at SeeClickFix, it is really only made possible by the amazing volunteers, citizens, and members of governments large and small who are passionate about everything civic.
- When I report an issue, who does the Fixing?
Most often, dedicated public servants in local, county, and metropolitan governments across the country are the ones who respond to SeeClickFix issues. Overall, there are an amazing number of people and organizations who are paid to attend to the issues you encounter, and there are many more who organize themselves on a volunteer basis to help make a difference in their communities. When they are notified of a specific issue that falls under their responsibility, many are pleased to have an opportunity to make a positive change. We have also seen that having a centralized listing of community concerns is a helpful resource for fixers with limited resources who must prioritize certain issues to be addressed earlier than others.
The basic tools - for fixers as well as reporters - are available for free. A great place to get started is to make a watch area. Once you've started keeping track of what's going on in the community, you can start fixing issues in the real world yourself or collaborate with someone else who can. Moreover, virtually anyone can become a digital volunteer by helping set up watch areas for public officials and community organizations in their area.
