  DeKalb Co water & sewer worked there (as well as up the street towards Oakview) last week and their "temporary" repairs were impacted by the heavy rains. The practice of using gravel/sand on disturbed sidewalks/verges is useless when it rains heavily. I continually have to pick up gravel from my driveway and off the street in front of my driveway because of the haphazard way they attempt to prevent runoff. If a developer did the same things the county does(and the city of Atlanta did when they repaved part of 2nd Ave two years ago), the city would be all over them with fines etc.
  As usual, the city of Decatur does NOTHING!

  It would help if this issue was escalated for a fix before school starts on Aug 1. Many kids will walk past this dangerous hole, and the eroding gravel makes a very tempting area to play.
