Willow is a mess that is used primarily as a cut through to and from the highway. If you look at the issues reported all along Willow, nearly all of them are related to speeding and inadequate bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. The street requires a comprehensive assessment to make Willow an asset rather than a liability.

In the short term things like speed trailers (I recently requested one to be temporarily placed along Willow), increased traffic enforcement and more pedestrian crosswalks and in-street pedestrian signs are appropriate.

In the long-term however, only synchronized traffic signals, road redesign and other major fixes can address the issue. The community nearly unanimously wants this to be dealt with, and if elected I will dedicate my efforts to making this happen.
