Thank you for reaching out to us! We will add your roadway to the list under consideration for future paving operations. Resident requests, while appreciated, do not alone guarantee that a roadway will necessarily be scheduled for repaving. For more information on resurfacing, please read this blog on the City’s website: https://cityblog.huntsvilleal.gov/when-will-my-road-get-resurfaced/ . If you have additional questions, please call Huntsville Public Works at 256-883-3944. Thank you, Your Huntsville Connect Customer Service Team
We hate to hear of your frustration, Tim. Hollington Drive is already on the resurfacing list for this year. Public Works would be happy to speak with you if you have any additional questions. You may reach them at 256-883-3944. As a reminder, Huntsville Connect is for service related requests. Repaving is a major construction project that has a lengthy process to determine which streets will be resurfaced. You can always reach out to Public Works for additional information on that process, or email our City colleagues at contact@huntsvilleal.gov . We look forward to working with you on any future service related issues you may be having.
Thanks for your response. I understand SCF is for service issues and think the app is a great tool to give residents an easy and quick path to report problems.
I exhausted the avenue of the City Councilwoman for my district along with meeting Chris McNeese to address the condition on Hollington Dr. I was told earlier this year Hollington was close to making the list. If Hollington was close i wanted to see roads that were scheduled to be resurfaced this year. It only took visiting Castlegate off Monte Sano and Bluefield off California St. to know there was a major problem with the evaluation process. I brought this to the attention of Councilwoman Akridge and suggested the city look into using a devive or software that takes out the human factor and favoritism aspect of grading roads.I have pictures and video of both Hollington and Bluefield, before it was repaved.
