Description

The eastbound bike lane across the new Embarcadero Bridge has four metal grates (two on each end) which are made up of 3 removable segments each. These segments have significant gaps between them such that there is no continuous cross bar, creating a gap parallel with the roadway that could easily catch a bicycle wheel and cause a bad crash.

Please replace these grates with something that is safer, ideally a single piece that isn’t easily removable, with a tighter spacing between the bars in each direction, and definitely continuous crossbars with no gaps.
