People don't read signs, or do what they say; what makes you think the deer will do any better? And anyway, where are you going to find someone who knows how to write in "Deer" so they can understand? My uncle is a hunter and he often talks about reading deer sign, maybe he can help.
How about a deer stop light ,or a Deer Go Away ,Or Elmer Fudd will get you sign?
Everybody in this area should learn or already know that when they drive that you always have to look out for deer and other animals in or near the roadway...no sign needed.
I've lived in this area my whole life. Anyone with sense knows there are deer on that stretch of road. A sign isn't going to do a darn thing if a deer darts out in the dead of a dark night. Cars can't slow down to 15mph and that's what it would take. I know one thing, if I hit one, I'm throwing that sucker in my car and taking it home to eat! Deer are like rats with longer legs. They just taste better.
We have lived in the area 20+ years and in the past 2 years my daughters have been playing outside and have seen police officers shoot 2 deer. Some people are aware of the deer; however, others are not. People need to be made more aware.
I agree with putting the sign up. Sounds like most of the lower-class hillbillies don't realize these deer are causing our local auto and health insurance rates to increase.

Lets call Marlin Perkins the 3rd, get him and his buddy, Jim Jr. to tranquilize the deer ,and send them away ,so humans can`t hurt them.
I would like a combination ,squirrel, raccoon, and possum crossing sign put up, though.
