Are there any workers doing what ever on the railroad crossing, i haven't seen any, just wondering, why no time line to let us know when this road will be OPEN again..

Still no idea when Columbia will reopen???

I do believe that they are removing the railroad tracks. Ive also heard that they will be leaving this closed like it used to be about 7-10 years ago.

I have heard the road will be closed permanently. If you lived in this area a few years ago I'm sure you remember when you could not cut down Columbia. Since their are no signs I guess everything is just a rumor.

ok all you folks that work for us in the goverment, public works, road commimmion, what's the deal, is East Columbia at the railroad crossing going to be closed for good or WHAT... find the answer and PLEASE let us TAXPAYER'S know what you have been up to..I would like an Answer for this Question! it has NEVER BEEN CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC AS LONG AS I HAVE LIVED IN PONTIAC AND THATS A LONG TIME

:) Thanks for putting it out there so clearly! I don't remember a time when Columbia was closed aside from when it was being worked on. Now let's see IF the "powers that be" have enough guts to answer!

Well lets ALL hope we get an answer that we want to hear, I have lived in pontiac 60+ yrs. never closed only for road work, and from what i have seen nothing is happening down there? Hello is any one out there,

Columbia between Price St and Highwood is scheduled to be closed until Friday, November 19, 2010 to complete electrical duct bank construction/installation.

Find an old map that part of Columbia was not open to drive straight through until about six years ago or so. I lived by Owen elementary, you used yo have to drive down Walton or Montcalm.

and to whom ever said that columbia just opened 6 yrs ago for thru traffic i have lived here longer than 6 yrs and its been open for sure since 1972 as i drove with a snowmobile up and down columbia, and what do you think all the shop traffic used when it was the biggest working place around here. always make sure you weren't on columbia at 2:30 in the afternoon as the shop let out.REMEMBER WHEN THIS WAS A BOOMING TOWN..
