Description
Continued parking on the curb. Nothing is being done no matter how many complaints are made. If this was a matter on the north side this would not be an issue. Do something!!

Actually it’s not just the northside and it’s not necessarily because the city is trying to make the northside safer or “better“. I just got a ticket yesterday for parking on the street but I pulled in for five minutes on the wrong side of the street in front of my house to run and get something and along comes a volunteer patrol and gives me a ticket for parking in the wrong direction. I called the police department and I talked with the sergeant in charge and expressed my disbelief that with all of the major issues we have on the southside with the homeless , the trash , the illegal parking , unregister cars and literally shootings and murders less than a block away from me… They have time to ticket my truck parked in the wrong direction for 10 minutes!
My theory is they don’t want to go much south of 13th Ave., South and certainly do not go west of MLK on the southside and ticket people for parking in the wrong direction; as a matter fact after I got my ticket I drove just three streets around me (south of me) and found over 15 cars parked in the wrong direction and none of them have tickets. I also called in one illegally parked vehicle just to see what would happen and sure enough it never got ticketed. So they definitely pick and choose and I think they either don’t care or they’re afraid to go into the rougher sections of the city so the people living there can get away with basically everything and anything!
Code does the same thing. Just one street south of me there are yards with severe overgrowth fences that are falling down multiple unregistered cars in the yard and Code’s does nothing about it no matter how many times your report it. Yet I had just one little section of my right of way that was growing out onto the sidewalk and because I couldn’t get it fixed in 10 days I was given $100 fine! They clearly know that it’s in their best interest financially to harass law-abiding citizens who have the financial means to pay.
