The issues which occurred during the week you've noted seem to be isolated. Safety is a concern, yet there seems nothing more to do on this, nor reason to leave it open form more comment. So far there's been limited support.

As noted in the original issue it was a series of run-ins with CATA buses on the MSU campus and contains the phone # to call if others have similar experiences, so it's being left open for others to reference if this happens again to someone.

Bicyclists shouldn't be so timid about "taking the lane" when necessary to prevent squeeze passes. My rule of thumb is to leave myself the amount of space on my right that I want overtaking traffic to give me on my left. If you hug the curb you convey the message that you only need that much space on the left, too.

Great advice Bob. Additionally, riding close to the gutter pan (the area where the cement part meets the asphalt pavement) oftentimes has a dangerous height difference between the asphalt and concrete which can cause you to crash or you can hit your right pedal on the curb itself causing a crash, not to mention all the debris (glass, etc.) that collects in the gutter area which causes flats. For bus drivers I've requested (and they've agreed) CATA supervisors to ask their drivers to keep at least 6 or more feet buffer around bicyclists when passing them to allow for the bicyclist to wobble or crash so they don't run over them.
