Description
This is a request to please add crosswalks, speed bumps, or a stop sign on Editors Park Dr. and Sentinel St. This is a dangerous intersection and I have almost been hit by cars speeding down Editors Park Dr. towards Orem Middle School as I cross at Sentinel to walk to the Metro. Furthermore, since Editors Park Dr. leads to Orem Middle School it is extremely dangerous to students during the school year. With the safety of the community in mind, I would appreciate it it Hyattsville would evaluate the safety of this intersection and, at the very least, paint sidewalks. Thank you.

I agree with this issue and would prefer to have several speed bumps installed. I know this requires a study be done measuring speeds of cars, but I can assure you, many cars speed well over 25 mph. This is dangerous for neighbors as well as students.
I would like to add that cars speed down Sentinel as well. Which currently is a one lane road because the yellow painted fire curbs are not enforced by the city.

Hello,
City staff walked the area of concern recently, and will install traffic/speed counters on Editors Park to monitor speeds and traffic. Once more information has been gathered, a determination will be made concerning traffic mitigation devices.
Sentinel drive is currently a privately owned road, and therefore the City cannot install traffic devices on it.
The HOA at The Edition is now communicating directly with City staff in reference to this issue.
Thank you for reaching out.
