Mr. Wharff,
Thank you for taking the time to write us with your concerns. As Bill has previously mentioned in the chain of e-mail exchanges below, we do not have budgeted funds to conduct the requested repair this year (which is an estimated expense of $15,000). Staff is currently working in the budget process and are including this repair in the 2020 Roads Program. In the short term, we do intend to try to find a temporary solution until a more permanent one can be made next year. We can certainly understand your concerns with the water ponding, therefore we will continue to have our vacuum street sweeper conduct additional routes in this area after heavy rainfalls. As an aside, I would also suggest that you contact Chatham County Mosquito Control (790-2540 or http://mosquitocontrol.chathamcounty.org/Service-Request) to notify them of increased populations of mosquitos in your area. This type of notification will help prompt additional treatments. Unfortunately, the coastal environmental we all love brings those nasty creatures to our neck of the woods.
