This is not a one time thing. I live across the street from this and the code violations have been ongoing for months.

This is a recurring violation. “Improvements” can be made in accordance with the law. 9 am on Saturday and 11 am on Sunday and holidays. How about as neighbors we try to make our neighborhood better rather together? Thank you for posting this Rhody!

The builders have zero consideration for the existing residents . They aren’t going to do anything that would jeopardize their bottom line or cost them money—which a later start time does. Time is $$. In a dude note, .We had our annual terminix inspection yesterday and the inspector told us about the tear down of houses that have termites, but the developers are not treating the site/ground before they build. He told me of houses in my neighborhood with live activity. He pointed out the cleared lands and said trees with termite colonies were uprooted and the colonies spread. It seems the developers come in, alter the plans to fit their cost/income ratio and then move on. There are no repercussions and we are left to live with it. Someone’s been calling us at our office telephone # about selling and they won’t back off.

We also had to rent this year due to termites ... agree Lisa. Repercussions that developers don’t care or won’t deal with ... so they should at least adhere to the code sections limiting their noise disturbance time.

On 8/1/19, a neighbor asked me to contact the city regarding the old granite curb in front of these houses. She felt more voices would impact the outcome. You see, a portion of the old granite curbs had been crushed by Weekley’s heavy equipment and nothing was being done about it.

On 8/9/19, the landscaping for these homes was delivered. The driver of the long flat bed parked in front of the 7th street and 36th Avenue north intersection to make unloading easier for him. The truck blocked all traffic from entering and exiting for about an hour.

All of this and more in the first ten days of August.

On several occasions, I have spoken with John, the Weekley project manager. During our first conversation, I reminded him that what is his construction site is also our neighborhood. Aside from the ordinances, there are simple courtesies that should be observed when you are working in a residential area. This is where we come home to at the end of our day. To date, our conversations have had no impact.

Construction/noise ordinance violations are the jurisdiction of law enforcement. Law enforcement issues need to be reported directly to the St. Petersburg Police Department by calling 727-893-7780 (for non-emergencies) or 911 (for emergencies) while the offense is occurring.
