I'd prefer restoration of the crosswalk at the intersection of Pine and Cherry. I confess to being a pedestrian who avoids the mid-day summer sun and chooses the shaded route. Until work starts on the hole in the middle of Pine Street, let's put the established sidewalk on the south side of Cherry back to use!
