Drivers turning onto Mc Bride continue to ignoring the “no right turn on red”.
I'd like to also complain about this. I am so tired of a***holes blowing through this intersection. There are 3 signs and multiple lights and people just fly through this. I wish I were exaggerating but I see it at least 50% of the time that light turns.
If NWPD doesn't step up and enforce, and if the city is not going to do something to make this intersection safer for pedestrians and cyclists, someone is going to get killed here, mark my words.
The blind corner is a massive safety hazard.
First step is that the signs need to change to NO RIGHT ON RED instead of "right turn on green arrow".
Then there needs to be regular NWPD enforcement with ZERO TOLERANCE for people running the light.
Then there needs to be a complete re-engineering of this intersection - if the city needs to cut that whole hill down to make it more visible, then that's what needs to happen.
Yes, we know the new bridge will fix this issue, but that's still 5+ years away. This needs to be addressed now.
And no, we're not going to fill out a "transportation action request". This is a significant public safety issue. I'm not even sure why this is assigned to Electrical now; they can't solve this, the lights are working as intended. Unless Electrical is going to start adding giant strobe lights like they do at some of the other crosswalks?
It's a signage issue, a safety issue, and an enforcement issue.
Sorry, this issue does not have any images or videos.
