  This is definitely an issue. I have also witnessed cars speeding down this street many times. When cars actually drive the speed limit, cars behind them get agitated and drive extremely close in an attempt to try and bully people to speed along with them. This same dangerous activity takes place along Clement ave leading to and from the wind river parking lot area. When the “speeders” want to go even faster, they turn off Buena Vista onto Clement in an effort to beat the traffic. Stop signs and crosswalks are not adhered to and this poses a serious safety risk to pedestrians. This dangerous activity is usually at its worse during commuter hours. Police presence would be appreciated.

  Thank you for submitting your request to the City of Alameda Public Works Department. We are currently developing a new process for handling traffic calming requests. Each request will be scored based on various quantitative and qualitative traffic related criteria. The requests with the highest scores will then be added to a list (to be reviewed for the next 1-2 fiscal years). Requests that are not selected will remain in the pool for consideration at a later time. We will add your request to the pool so that it may go through the selection process. In the meantime, we will reassign this case to APD so that they may enforce the area.
