Woodside has been turned into an even more dangerous road, especially with the bike lanes! It's open to lawsuits with bikers causing car accidents, and being able to just "bike away" from the scene. The bikes will also be blocking the many driveways that residents who live on Woodside have to turn into quickly, or come to a dead stop in the traffic lane, and get rear-ended. should that happen, the county should be sued for this sick and dangerous plan. There are NYS bicycle laws, but who will enforce them??? Motor vehicle laws aren't even enforced. If these politicians think bicycles belong side by side on busy, dangerous roads likle Woodside and have the same rights to share the roads with killing machine motor vehicles, then bicycles should be required to have license plates should they cause motor vehicle accidents, the bikes can be reported to the police. Contact your NYS assemblyperson, Dean Murray and ask him to make bikes REQUIRE LICENSE PLATES FOR IDENTIFICATION TO BE REPORTED TO POLICE SHOULD THEY GET CARS INTO ACCIDENTS. I asked his office and got NO response.
