Yes of course there are bigger issues. But we have to start somewhere and if it means with something this small and seemingly insignificant, then so be it. It's not as if this is a crime that requires an investigation ... a law enforcement officer simply needs to tell the owner of that gym that that sign is not appropriate for the neighborhood and needs to be taken down immediately - problem solved. If they were trying to just "drum up business and get people to exercise" they could have simply advertised "zumba" as that is a popular workout class in and of itself.

That sounds a lot like censorship. What is offensive or inappropriate to one person may not be the same to another. If the sign violates a township or borough law then it should come down. The sign simply says "pole dancing"....it does not have a picture.

I'm not arguing about the intensity of the workout. I'm fighting to keep this neighborhood respectable. I don't know what you teach your kids, but I certainly don't want my kids growing up thinking that mommy and daddy work so hard so that they can see signs advertising pole dancing classes while they're walking around their own neighborhood. Everything is so sexualized these days. Let kids be kids. It's not fair that today's youth isn't even given a chance to be innocent before being ruthlessly bombarded by sexualized advertisements.

If you want to make known the workouts that your gym has to offer then create a website, handout flyers, press release in the paper, whatever. But an overtly sexual ad has no place on Chester Pike.

You should have more of a problem with with intoxicated drivers leaving the bar that is right up the street not a sign at a gym but I guess drunk drivers are less of an issue

There is absolutely nothing sexually explicit about that sign. It refers to pole dancing exersises. I've even seen spots on the news about exercising this way when it was in fashion. The only one that regards that sign as anything remotely sexual is you.

I live in Norwood where this sign is. It has been up there for several years. It is a gym for ladies and the sign is not that bad. I would be more concerned over graffiti or something like that. The police can't just go tell a business owner to take down the sign because someone doesn't like it! If you are that upset over it go to a Norwood Boro council meeting and express your concerns.

i just recieved a picture my daughter drew for me and it was a advertisement for zumba and pole dancing with no picture on it it was a flyer handed out on our railing she got ahold of it and drew a picture of a girl pole dancing with dollar bills hanging out of her g string and said it was rosalie who would have thought
