Description

Apparently the students' town provided garbage bin is full - so this morning I noticed 9 plastic bags of garbage on the curb (I live next door) some of which already have holes in them. Garbage collection in this neighborhood is not until Friday (today is Thursday and this was at about 7AM this morning) and as our properties back up to the woods and the Farmington Canal, I expect to wake up tomorrow and see the remnants of the feast the animals will be enjoying overnight. I have emailed both the property owner and the university with no response. I advised the owner that he needs to reach out to the town to get another receptacle and until he does that the garbage will have to be stored in their garage (which they don't use) or taken to the dump. This is a health hazard, particularly if the animals get into them overnight. And garbage should not be put out until the evening before one's pick up, not two days prior.
