We have forwarded this issue to our Code Compliance Officers for review. We will get back to you shortly with their response.

Our Code Compliance Department completed a sweep of the illegal signs in the City last Thursday and Friday and this should have been dealt with then. Any further questions can be directed to the Code Compliance Manager, Raoul Newman at raoul.newman@brookhavenga.gov

Unfortunately these were not dealt with. All 11 of them are still there.

These 11 illegal signs hanging on utility poles along Peachtree Road were not removed last Thursday and Friday. They are all still there as of today (8/8/13)

Yes, I checked back with the Code Compliance officer and during their sweep last week, they weren't able to get to every location. They should be going back out in the next few days to get the last locations.

All 11 illegal signs still hanging on these utility poles. Why doesn't Code Enforcement call the violater and order them to remove? The phone number on the signs is 678/653-0266

Can you give us a better location of where these signs are exactly? Our Code Enforcement officer was able to remove a couple of the signs, including the one pictured, but he was unable to find 11 signs.

They really are very hard to miss.

There are 2 on the corner of Peachtree and Colonial in front of the Starbucks.

Two more right across the street at the old Hastings Nursery property.

Two more hanging on utility poles in front of Brookhaven Plaza.

Another one at the Northeast corner of Peachtree and Druid Hills on a utility pole just inside the MARTA parking lot fence.

Another one on a utility pole on Dresden just east of Peachtree in front of the Waffle House.

Another one on a pole on the northwest corner of Peachtree and Brookhaven at Dunkin Donuts.

Finally, one more in front of Dunkin Donuts on Brookhaven Drive.

It appears that the only one that has been removed was at the southeast corner of Peachtree and Dresden.

Our Code Compliance Manager visited these sites again and removed as many signs as he saw.

Let me try to be even more specific as there are still 8, bright yellow, very visible signs that remain.

The first 5 (one was just added by 2 Men and a Truck this weekend) are at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Colonial Drive. Two are nailed to adjacent utility poles at the southeast corner of the intersection (Starbucks). Two more are nailed to a single utility pole at the southwest corner of the intersection. Finally the last one is nailed to a utility pole at the northwest corner of the intersection.

Driving just 100 yards or so north on Peachtree you come to the entrance to Brookhaven Plaza shopping center (Peachtree and Druid Hills). There is one nailed to the first utility pole to the left of the shopping center entrance and one nailed to the first utility pole to right of the shopping center entrance.

The final sign is nailed to a utilty pole on Brookhaven Drive right in front of the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. So, after leaving Brookhaven Plaza drive north again on Peachtree Road and turn left at Dresden/Brookhaven Drive. Right after turning look at the utility pole on your right.

Never mind...I just removed all 9 signs (violater had added a few more) on Sunday morning. I sure hope next time the city takes care of this code violation as the Peachtree Road utility poles are often littered with illegal signs.
