First of all, the address is incorrect. It is HADLEY STREET, half of which is in MALDEN, and the other half is in EVERETT. There are storm drains on BOTH sides of the street, and while they initially drain, they quickly become overwhelmed and do NOT drain, resulting in deep flooding on both sides of the street. I have had multiple conversations with multiple people in Malden. I am told that Everett does not have a machine to clear their storm drains, but Malden said they do it "as a courtesy." Well, the drains are NOT WORKING! Will someone step up here?
Follow up comment. This picture is from last year. I have a series of pictures from last year showing at least THREE events where the entire street flooded, and the water overtopped my driveway and flooded my back yard with almost a foot of water. This is now a new year. 2020. I begin the summer with yet ANOTHER flooding event. Again, I have new, date stamped pictures. This is absurd. The (Malden) town engineer tells me there is nothing that can be done, but I disagree. If the drains were cleared and the street / sidewalks were redone so that they were the proper height, the water would not flood into my back yard and flood the two houses on both sides of me. Who is responsible for this? If it is a bad design, then someone in the town needs to correct the design.
A new street has been installed. A drain has been placed in my back yard in the event of catastrophic flooding and the town of Everett will soon be upgrading their storm drain system on Miller Street which hopefully will divert water into the storm drain and not allow it to flood down Miller Street. The abnormally dry year (2022) has also contributed to my first without flooding in my yard.
