Description
The homeless encampment on 67th Street and Shellmound at the Berkeley/Emeryville border has moved onto the railroad tracks across the street now. There are tents, giant cardboard boxes and garbage piling up again. Not only a sore sight for the neighborhood but also a safety concern for those who are camping on those tracks.

So now that Emeryville has successfully pushed the encampment out of their jurisdiction. Then Berkeley did the same and passed it on to Caltrans. How can we truly solve this ongoing problem?
Caltrans came out on Tuesday 9/3 and cleaned the encampment off their property. We were hopeful this would be successful but no it just passed the problem on to the next person.
Do you know who is the private property owner of the train tracks? Amtrak? Because now we must report the issue with the private property owner. The cat and mouse game continues. Thank you again for your help.

I just got off the phone with Union Pacific Railroad. This is their contact phone number. (888) 877-726.
They were very helpful and thankful for reporting it. They said that reporting it helps reduce delays and possible injury to people living in the encampment. So I highly recommend that more people call and report it so they know it is a problem. They just need to know the cross streets and the city.
