So now that Emeryville has successfully pushed the encampment out of their jurisdiction. Then Berkeley did the same and passed it on to Caltrans. How can we truly solve this ongoing problem?

Caltrans came out on Tuesday 9/3 and cleaned the encampment off their property. We were hopeful this would be successful but no it just passed the problem on to the next person.

Do you know who is the private property owner of the train tracks? Amtrak? Because now we must report the issue with the private property owner. The cat and mouse game continues. Thank you again for your help.

I imagine that this situation is similar to a hazard or other safety concern that requires corrective action due to the fact that people on the tracks could cause an accident with the trains.

They were very helpful and thankful for reporting it. They said that reporting it helps reduce delays and possible injury to people living in the encampment. So I highly recommend that more people call and report it so they know it is a problem. They just need to know the cross streets and the city.

Looks like our efforts paid off. Union Pacific is out there clearing off the tracks right now.
