Description

Scio Church between Maple and 7th is a drag-way. What would it take to have additional speed limit signs installed OR an electronic sign showing drivers speed (similar to near Pioneer HS on S. 7th)??The average driver is going 45+ MPH in a 35MPH zone, in a highly residential area on a street which sits between TWO elementary schools! Kids are walking to/from Dicken and Lawton on what feels like an expressway.

Speed feedback signs are a tool used by the AAPD, and placement of them is managed by the department.

Thank you. I submitted a inquiry to the Engineering Department via the above mentioned link on September 11th, followed up today 10/16 and am waiting to hear back from a Traffic Engineer or someone from the Transportation department.

Construction on Scio Church was completed in 2023, which significantly altered the driving environment and should lead to lower speeds and safer crossings.
