This issue has gotten much worse since I reported it 871 days ago. It is still dangerous for cyclists on the Cambridge-bound side of the bridge. Please repair ASAP. This is a safety issue.

This is an ongoing issue. I find it especially bad on the west side -- the lane going from Cambridge to Boston. It's like driving over an old decrepit bridge, when, in fact, the bridge was completely overhauled just a few years ago.

This issue has become super critical in recent weeks. A hole as formed over one of the northbound expansion joints. It is directly in the bike lane. This issue has been outstanding for almost 1,000 days!!! Isn't it under warranty from the contractor? I reported it within a year of the completion of the BU Bridge rehabilitation project.

Is anyone out there listening, or is this Commonwealth Connect thing useless? No officials seem to take notice of this issue. Now, there are at least half a dozen places where the expansion joints are missing all fill down to the metal (are they beams?).

I would recommend reporting this issue directly to MassDOT via their contact form at the bottom of this page. I have had good luck in the past with this. They always respond within a few days.

MassDOT (?) fixed this issue a month or so ago. Thanks MassDOT!
