Description
Intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Bethlehem Pike where there is a left only turn lane and right only turn lane. Cars on Pennsylvania Avenue heading towards Bethlehem Pike and in the right turn only lane cut in front of the cars making a left turn onto Bethlehem Pike in the left turn only lane. It is particularly bad weekday mornings between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Please have law enforcement posted at this corner to prevent an accident, especially one involving children on their way to school. (I have a photo of the car that cut my teenager (and siblings) off this morning, if you want it.)

This is an ongoing problem...during the mornings hours peak hours 7-8. One of the cars scratched my front bumper few months back. After that incident, I reported here and we had an officer posted and it was helpful for few months.
But this happening again especially at the two traffic lights on the Penns Ave before the intersections. I highly recommend a sign and solid white line on that section of the road.

The whole section between Summit and Bethlehem is a nightmare most morning and afternoon rush hours. Excessive congestion and consistent blocking of the box on red lights. The design is playing a major factor. Too many lights bunched up in one tight heavily used section. The hill combined with the non-90* intersection as summit is not helping. No real good markings for defining the box. The backups that occur force drivers onto Summit rather than the state routes.
One thing that might help is engaging Whitemarsh township and SEPTA to redesign the entrance/exit paths for the parking lot. Station Ave does not accommodate exiting and might reduce load on Penn Ave.
I can't even imagine how much worse it will get if or when Fort Washington Village development occurs.
