  The folks living in this trailer were threatening someone with a weapon last night. Check police reports around 12:15am. The woman also yelled to someone they better not smash her windows or poke her tires, before she asked for a cro bar, shortly thereafter the threats happened and someone else called the police. The police did come but all the folks skattered which is commonly happening any time the police are called. It's circus over here and the center hub starts with the lot at 517 Lancaster St where folks are illegally living.

  City of Oakland please address both of the issues being presented here. The people living illegally in the suv with trailer are literally harassing people as they walk by. It happened to me while walking my dog last night. And as pointed out in the comment above there is a full illegal encampment on Lancaster. Garbage, needles on the ground, harassment, sewage, etc. My son will not walk down that block anymore. I have written about this before and have seen nothing happen. Please help us.

  What is currently being done about 517 Lancaster? It appears they're running a chop shop and processing stolen items at that location.

  Nothing is being done Michael. When my wife and I walked by last week and looked at what was happening we were immediately cussed out and after that were told they are paying rent to be there. I clearly don’t believe that but if it’s true then the landlord should be held accountable. The chop shop part is only part of the criminal activity happening there.

  They are not paying the rent. As I understand it....they got in there pretending they were going to run a business growing bamboo and then simply moved in as there home and stopped (or never?) paid. The primary "resident" was never supposed to have access to the container which they now live in and their guests sleep there, in their cars, RVs, or on the street. The landlords have been trying to get them out of there for some time and have an upcoming court date. The state of California protects squatters to a degree, but hopefully this is solved very soon. Post your observations here and I'll share it with the landlord to be used in their court date.

  Thanks, CJT. We have a lot of concerned and frustrated folks in the neighborhood who've had to deal with noise from all hours car repairs, drug use, theft from their cars, theft from their buildings, etc. stemming from these folks not to mention the harassment and threats of violence. OPD has been of limited help thus far.

  Ok first off no one is breaking into cars or using drugs and it's not a chop shop ....and no one has been harrassed as I see it all of u are harrassing them ...I am simply trying to clean this lot up if you feel a certain way let's come together and figure this out ....the above listed is not true

  What is wrong with u people ..y'all better than me ? I just had it parked there til my friend could get his car started and no therss no chop shop I have been helping clean this yard we will try to keep the generator to a minimum
