This location is on Union Pacific property. The folks at UP HQ in Omaha said APD has letters on file authorizing them to enforce their private property rights.

This encampment continues to grow and is located near businesses and two pre schools.

Interesting that AFD said they couldn't locate anyone at UP to deal with the overgrowing weed problem which is a serious fire risk. I made one call and 24 hours later heard back from Omaha. They plan to have weeds/overgrowth cleared out within 30 days.

If this is private property, then how does "Boise" apply? Alameda's version of the Home Depot
is percolating.

Sadly all UPRR 888-877-7267 can do is move them on to city property. Neither the State of Calif, Alameda County or any city's in the county have a plan to help get these for the most part addicts off of our streets, sidewalks, parks and or private property. All the shuffling, enabling and pandering is making the problem much worse. The word is out among this addicts/ victims of civil society and numerous poor life choices population and now Calif is the place to be for all the goods the taxpayer can get stripped of.

A tipping point is upon us. Will be interesting to see how tolerant Alameda will be when parents have to start cleaning needles from parks and disease affects the community. People are compassionate yet they deserve standards. TBD.

Folks, I and several other residents have been reporting this problem at this specific location for the past several years. I even have a request open here from 6 months ago that our corrupt and thoroughly worthless city government has ignored this entire time. They literally could not care less. You guys know the police chief doesn't even live in Alameda. He lives in a luxurious 4 bedroom home in Danville paid for with your tax dollars. He makes about $350k annually in salary and benefits, all of it out of your pockets. He doesn't care that Alameda is turning into a second Oakland because him and his family don't live here. They won't have to worry about all the problems they allow to fester and rot here. We will. As always, the taxpayers will serve as his footstool, just like we serve as footstools for our corrupt mayor, the corrupt city council, and every other scum that dwells within the absolute swamp that is our city government.

Here is my request from six months ago about this same issue that the city government has ignored this entire time. Other residents have been reporting this same problem for several years. The city doesn't care.

this will never be resolved guys just so you know. they will just "assign to hlos" and then close it, if even that. some of us dont even get an acknowledgement on our requests at all like you'll see my request from 6 months ago has not had any follow up from them at all. they literally could not care less and the only this will ever get fixed is if we fix our corrupt and worthless city government first. revolt now because that is the only way you'll ever get this fixed, i promise you. that is the only way. revolt and fire them all. appoint all new city leaders from scratch, and make sure it is not a-holes like our police chief who live in another city and dont even care about our community, make sure it is actually people from here who actually care about our neighborhoods because they live in them too. dont let a bunch of a-holes from danville run our city because you see where it's gotten us so far?

David and anyone else reading this who is interested, I strongly encourage you to look up the Battle of Athens, Georgia. I felt very inspired after reading it and I think it's a very important piece of United States history. I really wish more youth learned about this stuff in school because I think we would have a very different world and very different social fabric today if people were more in tune with America's history and spirit of rebellion against evil forces. We need to continue this tradition of standing up against evil tyrants who abuse their power at the expense of the common folk. We need to rise up and stand against our evil government. It is not illegal to be homeless. They cannot be asked to leave if they are on City space and there is no alternative housing or shelter that can be offered for them to move. This is the law, called Boise decision, which was upheld by the Supreme Court in January 2020. If they are occupying a space that is privately-owned, owner can ask them to move. If they refuse, call APD, as this is trespassing. If an illegal activity, emergency, or someone is in imminent danger, report to APD. Outreach is aware of this site and visits the encampment regularly to offer services and connect individuals to resources.
