The section of Flynn Ave between Foster Street and the railroad crossing is particularly bad.

Paving this section of Flynn Ave - from west of Foster St to west of the railroad crossing - is on our capital project list and will be addressed under the Champlain Parkway project which is attached to a federal grant and will relieve taxpayers of much of the expense. This work will also include reconstruction of sidewalks, stormwater improvements and upgrades to the rail crossing. This section is scheduled for construction in the next 1-2 years. Because of the large pothole on the railroad tracks, my bike tire became logded and I was thrown from the bike. I sustained injuries for weeks because of the poor condition of this spot.

I realize you want to save money rebuilding the road and constructing sidewalks, which makes sense but now residents are getting hurt. Please spend a little money and put down a skim coat of asphalt. If the city gets sued for the next accident it’ll be cheaper to lay down asphalt.

Federal $ is still our tax money. It doesn’t magically come from thin air.

I reported this issue in 2019. A couple of potholes were filled directly in front of City Market, but the section just east of the market has never gotten better. Not everyone drives a big SUV or pickup. I have bent wheels along that section of Flynn. I shop at City Market daily, and I have to park on Ferguson Street to keep from further damaging my car.
