This has never been addressed so I would like to keep it open.

More crosswalks are needed for safety purposes and this really seems like a very easy request that benefits so many.

I posted this issue/concern over 360 days ago and nothing has come of it. I really wish our DPW and police would take a small amount of time to look at this concern and consider it. Sycamore Street is just around the corner from a busy commuter rail and a bus line going into Harvard Square and other busy areas. There are lots and lots of pedestrians that walk in this area to and from Waverly Square to use these public transportation options. It makes sense that the roads surrounding the area are equipped for all this foot traffic and having crosswalks is a simple request. My request is for a crosswalk to be added somewhere at the middle of Sycamore Street and to paint and brighten up the one at the end near Belmont Street.

It is not a complicated request and is much needed.

This issue was never resolved. The complaint is several years old and still nothing has happened. It is a matter of public safety. Sycamore is a busy road with both walking traffic and vehicles. As of now, the only crosswalk on Sycamore Street in Watertown is the one at the end near Belmont Street. Even that crosswalk is barely noticeable because of the fading. This street needs another one somewhere further down. Near the corner of Sycamore and Chandler would be perfect.
