This area was specified as a pedestrian path from the Fourth Bore Settlement. This path was priority five when money was allocated for projects in the twenties. Unfortunately, our neighbors who live in Rockridge felt it was a waste to spend money in an area that they did not live and blocked it.

OAK 311 has referred this issue to CALTRANS MAINTENANCE,. Please contact that department to follow-up (see "Other Helpful Links" at http://www2.oaklandnet.com/Government/o/PWA/Connect/ReportaProblem/index.htm#Links).

Unfortunately, the sidewalk is still blocked.

The City of Oakland was supposed to build a sidewalk there but diverted the money to lower priority projects.

Reported here 09.19.2019 and to CalTrans 01.08.2020, sidewalk\foot traffic path is still blocked.

At long last, CalTrans has cut the shrubbery that had been blocking the sidewalk. Thank you CalTrans!
