Whenever it rains, even just a little bit like a few days ago, water collects at the curb from 336-400 Dwight. It takes a few days to evaporate and then leaves a horrendous decaying smell for weeks. There may be a drainage issue because it should not collect at the curb. This could also cause a mosquito breeding area. In the short term, I would like to request street cleaning to focus on this area and repeat to remove the smell. Hopefully cleaning will help, but it may need to be analyzed to improve draining. There are a couple of Ginkgo trees in the neighborhood that are responsible for the smell.
Staff has made several repairs to the gutters in the neighborhood that has made some improvement on conveying the water downstream, but there are still some 'standing' water issues. Staff has communicated to the Engineering division that this area needs to be inspected.
The street cleaning will resume to the winter cleaning schedule on October 1st thru March 28, 2020; streets are swept weekly, unless there are mechanical issues, holidays or mandatory training.

I will be changing this request from street sweeping to Other Street Issue and reassigning the request to the engineering department.
