City Hall – DR assigned this issue to Public Works - RF (Admin)

Street cleaning should be once each month for each side. That is when we hear it, and for those who have forgotten it is a much appreciated reminder. How the heck does CollaborativeNeighbor get 795410 civic points. He/she must be a really sensitive grouch.

It was street cleaning today and it also was on Friday (third Friday and fourth Monday) so that was probably what was heard. We appreciate the monthly warnings in this neighborhood!

Hi @Skocpol - the user name CollaborativeNeighbor is just the generic name assigned by seeclickfix to unregistered users - that's why so many "points." But no one here is a sensitive grouch. We report problems to the city. Some of us don't like or need megaphone announcements for street cleaning. This is how we report our dislike to the city. No hard feelings, we're just communicating. The city appreciates our input and does what it does.

Thanks for the explanation about the "super-achiever". I understand "don't need". When a known car seems to be staying late, I go quietly, trying to tell the owner. If it's an unknown interloper, I don't know where to go, so I don't.

As noted in the discussion on this topic, there are a variety of opinions on the monthly street sweeping announcements. Some people do find them a nuisance, while others find them extremely helpful. At this time the general consensus has been that the benefits outweigh the negative aspects. Public Works will remain attentive to feedback from the community on this issue. However, the plan at this time is to continue this program.
